Sachs Recreation Center

Sachs Recreation Center offers facilities, services, and benefits including:

• A regulation-sized gymnasium and two middle school-sized gymnasiums
• Athletic leagues (basketball, volleyball, dodgeball and more)
• Two indoor tennis courts, one indoor racquetball court (and related programs)
• Four-lane jogging/walking track
• Four-lane, 20-yard lap pool with whirlpool/sauna (Coho Swim Club offerings)
• Co-ed whirlpool
• Sauna and steam rooms
• Kinder Club: Before- and After-Kindergarten programs
• Game room for youths in grades 5-10: foosball, bumper pool, and TV
• Rhythmic gymnastics programs (home to North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics)

Two air-conditioned tennis courts are available for rental to the general public.

Tennis Court Rental Fees

Prime Time: $28 per hour (Mon-Fri: after 9 am; Sa-Sun: all day)
Non-Prime Time: $16 per hour (Mon-Fri: 5 am-9 am)

Court time rental rates are the same for members/non-members and the same for residents/non-residents.

Reservations/Cancellations for Racquetball and Tennis Courts

Reservations (telephone or in person): Deerfield Park District residents may reserve court time up to seven days in advance. Non-residents may reserve courts 48 hours in advance.

Payment for court time is made at the front reception desk at time of reservation. Courts may be obtained on a walk-on basis when available.

Cancellations: A full refund will be given for cancellations more than 48 hours prior to scheduled court time. For cancellations made 48 hours prior to scheduled court time, 50% of the fee will be refunded. For cancellations within 48 hours of scheduled court time, no refund will be given. To cancel, please speak directly to a front desk staff member at 847-572-2600. Cancellations by voicemail, email, or faxes are not accepted.

Racquetball Court Rental Fees

Prime Time: $16 per hour (Mon-Fri: 4:30 pm-8 pm; Sa-Sun: 7 am-12:30 pm)
Non-Prime Time: $12 per hour (Mon-Fri: 5 am-4 pm; Sa-Sun: 1 pm-4 pm)

The Sachs Recreation Center has a room specially designed and reserved for use by our pre-teen/teen guests. Hang with friends, play bumper pool, video games and foosball, watch TV. Or just kick back and chill in comfortable beanbag chairs. A NEOS game — open to all ages — is located just outside the game room. Time your visit to the game room with open gym, open swim or other programs.

Located in the west “korner” of the Sachs Recreation Center, Kids Korner is a safe, fun and secure area for children. As a fitness club member, you can be assured that caring and qualified staff will supervise your child while you enjoy the facility. Parents, please allow extra time on your first visit to complete a health history and Release of Liability form for each child as well as attend a brief orientation provided
by a Kids Korner staff member. If your child needs special accommodations, please contact the Sachs Recreation Center at 847-572-2600 prior to a first Kids Korner visit.

Kids Korner Fees (2-hour maximum)

Single Visit  -- $6/visit per child (2 hour visit)
20-visit Punch Card*  -- $90

*Kids Korner punch cards are non-transferable for use by another family.

Payment for each visit must be made at the front reception desk before taking your child to the Kids Korner.

Mon - Fri: 8 am - 1 pm

Tues & Thurs: 4 pm - 8 pm

Sa - Sun: 8 am - 12 noon

Kids Korner Guidelines

• Kids Korner services are for members’ children between the ages of 3 months and 10 years. Children 7-10 years of age are welcome to bring along their own favorite electronic or other games, books, or other forms of entertainment.
• Children may attend Kids Korner for a maximum of two hours per visit.
• Parent must remain on-site while a child participates in Kids Korner.
• Please label any property your children bring to Kids Korner. The Deerfield Park District is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
• Diaper service is not provided; parents will be notified if a child’s diaper needs to be changed.
• Food and beverages are not permitted in Kids Korner. A Kids Korner supervisor will escort children to the drinking fountain if water is requested.
• Reservations for Kids Korner participants are strongly recommended and may be made one week in advance. Phone or in-person reservations are accepted.
• Reservations must be paid in full at time of reservation. There are no refunds for cancellations.
• Children will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis if space allows.
• The Park District’s “Code of Conduct” applies to our young guests.

Enjoy healthy menu options, kids’ favorites, or quick snacks after a vigorous workout! The Retro Café, on the second level, provides a full menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The chef and staff create wonderful, heart-healthy food and serve a variety of wraps and sandwiches, robust salads, and fruit smoothies. Other favorites include chicken filets, burgers, chili, and frozen treats. The Retro Café also features a full kids’ menu. Take a break during your fast-paced day—come upstairs, relax, and enjoy delicious and nutritious food.

Sachs Recreation Center is the ideal venue for hosting your next event! Rental opportunities are open to the community, civic organizations, and businesses to meet, play, or celebrate at our facility! The whole facility, pool, gym(s), party room or café are available for rental.
